The 4th ASWC was organized by the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand on 5-7 August 2015 at Phuket Graceland Resort and Spa Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. The Conference was attended by 63 participants from 9 ASEAN Member States (except Brunei Darussalam), the Republic of China, ASEAN Secretariat, UNICEF and from relevant organizations in Thailand.
The objectives of the 4th ASWC Conference are:
- To develop mechanism of social work consortium, capacity building, knowledge development and management, and strengthen regional and national social work and social welfare institutions.
- To strengthen cooperation and networking.
- To discuss during a back to back meeting on (1) social work training courses for practitioners, students, and schools of social work in ASEAN, (2) ASEAN social work standard of practice / code of ethics and (3) ASEAN minimum standard / core curriculum for social work.
