6th ASWC Conference

The 6th ASEAN Social Work Consortium (ASWC) conference was organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, together with the Indonesian Social Work Consortium (ISWC) on July 25th -29th at Mercure
Convention Center,Ancol, Indonesia.

The conference was conducted to to fulfil the purposes of ASEAN Social Work Consortium, as follows:

1. to strengthen solidarity among social work educators, practitioners,
   and schools of social work;
2. to promote and institutionalize effective collaboration towards the
   achievement ofresponsive and excellent social work education in
   the ASEAN region;
3. to enhance and develop social work education and practice relevant
   to the regions

Under the theme “Growing Cooperation, Solidarity and Quality Social Sevices in ASEAN”, the 6th ASWC Conference is aimed to achieve its general objective which is to further strengthen the purposes of ASWC and prepare the timely implementation of the Solo Workplan 2016 – 2020. This is strengthened into specifc objectives as follows:

1. Update, review and refine formulation on priority on general policy
   issues.
2. To conduct meetings on further preparations for the timely
   implementation of the ASWC Solo Work Plan 2016-2020.
3. To align inter-country technical arrangements, financial
   commitments and event participants.
4. To gain ASEAN + 3 country support enhancement and institutional
   sponsorship for priority programs.

These all had been written in the Term of Reference of the conference, attached as Annex 1.
